What Do You Think?
Notice the colorful icons beneath each post. They are from a service called Click Comments, designed for those who don’t want to comment but want to leave feedback. I’m trying it on this blog. I’d like some feedback from you, though.
1. Would this stop you from commenting if you had been going to comment?
2. Would it make you click on an option if normally you would just leave?
3. Is it annoying?
4. Anything else you want to say.

Kinda, neat.
Although, on a slow connection they did take a long time to load (much longer than it took me to read the post) so it does slow things down.
It’s a neat little widget! I’m interested in seeing others’ reactions, as it looks like something I’d use to leave feedback if I didn’t feel like writing anything.

Duuuuude. I love it! The only downside (on my end) is that I didn’t know what they were, and they didn’t interest me enough to look into it until you pointed them out. Now I want them!
No, they wouldn’t stop me from commenting if I’d planned to anyway. Yes, I would likely click one if I would normally just leave. Basically because I like to let a blogger know that I enjoyed their post, but don’t want to just comment with “interesting”.
Thanks for your comments, everyone. I’m taking this as a thumbs up , especially since some people have voted (though I agree with Dana that it increases loading time somewhat). Maybe I’ll just have to write longer posts
I hadn’t seen these before anywhere and wasn’t sure what they were – but I think the concept is a sound one. Once the icons get more exposure and are readily recognized, the way the buttons for del.icio.us and digg and other social bookmarking sites are now familiar to most, it could increase the feedback from readers.
That’s the plan, Jen. I think it’s a great way to leave some feedback even if you don’t have anything to say.
