E-books! How I do love me some e-books. (GRIN) I've been writing, selling, and marketing e-books since 1999. I kind of like the idea of mini-books or the $ a chapter idea. But if I did something like that, it would have to be a mini-book because I can't get passed not offering my best and I always seem to want to include the kitchen sink in every book I write.I do have some free articles online about writing e-books if anyone's interested in a good read.

Everything starts somewhere! Mark Victor Hansen ("Chicken Soup ..." started somewhere near Oblivion Station. He is currently saying the future is in mini-books. Sounds to me like "buy it a chapter at a time for a buck at a time." That really fits the e-book genre for three reasons I can think of. 1. Many buyers only read the first chapter anyway. 2. People don't like to print volumes of paper at once. 3. People want to focus in a world with "Societal ADHD." The tough part will be in writing free standing mini-books that are part of a unified whole. Is that approach worth thinking about?

This looks like an excellent resource. Thanks for posting this information. I know many writers with half written e-books on their hard drive and who have very little in the name of plans regarding what they'll do with the book when it's finished so having a home for it as well as some expertise on format could really help a writer get motivated to get it finished. (Note to self! LOL)

Indeed! I didn't want to leave a crappy comment, but I did want to say that 1) I think the opportunity is worth exploring and 2) that more people would explore if the design was more pro.

Kind of a good and bad :)

Design is a key part of marketing, James. I'm sure Garry will be interested in this feedback.

This looked interesting and I clicked over to learn more ... and got turned off by the site design, unfortunately. Establishing a website as an up-and-coming means paying more attention to looks.

It could offer good opportunities for some writers, though, so maybe they'll go for a redesign to help boost the credibility. I understand that a site shouldn't reflect reputation, but in today's world, it really does.
