Dana Prince has a great post on her blog about how much freelance writers can expect to earn. Dana’s blog is a gold mine for the aspiring freelance writer, as she speaks from personal experience. Today’s post gives hard facts about typical freelance writing earnings:

My first assignments with that agency averaged about .01 per word, sometimes a bit better. Most of this work required a little research and was mostly keyword dense articles or travel articles.
