A No Flow Day

in blogging, writing

Sometimes you just can’t get a flow going. It’s been one of those days for me. I have tons of writing deadlines, but am coming down with a bug. My head feels fuzzy and I have found it difficult to untangle my thoughts. However, I have still had to write.

Past experience has taught me that I rarely deliver my best work when I’m not well. However, sometimes you have to keep going so that you don’t fall behind. But I will make sure that I check the work extra carefully before sending it off. I wrote an extra 1,000 words tonight so tomorrow will be easier, but you can bet I’ll proofread it before sending it to the client tomorrow. Typos are bad for business.

If you do have to write when you’re not well, hold the work back if there’s time so that you can look at it when you feel better. It’s usually worth it. And if, as I did today, you write a blog post but you’re not sure it reads well, hold off on posting it. It’s better to wait than to post something you’re not happy with.

I’m having one of those days too, Sharon. Good thing I wrote something beforehand to post today. I can only imagine having a truckload of work like you though…

Thanks, Jason, Dana. I am on the mend and working through it so that the deadlines don’t overwhelm me.
